In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled a terror module associated with the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). On February 15, the police raided a hideout in the Majherpara area of Hatiara Gote, Kolkata, apprehending the first two suspects: 31-year-olds Umar Faruk and Robiul Islam. During questioning, Faruk shed light on an alarming timeline of radicalization and disclosed the whereabouts of his accomplices.

On February 21, simultaneous raids took place in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, leading to the arrest of six additional suspects. These individuals were identified as Mohammed Mizanur Rehman (32), Mohammed Sefayat Hossain (34), Mohammed Zahidul Islam (40), Mohammed Liton (40), Mohammed Uzzal (27), and another Umar from Bogura, Bangladesh.
During these raids, police seized multiple items indicative of radical activity, including ten mobile phones containing extremist content, 25 credit and debit cards, five point-of-sale machines, and original Bangladeshi passports that the suspects had attempted to conceal.
